Joseph Rutter BSc (Hons), MChiro (Hons), DC, LRCC
Doctor of Chiropractic
Joe helps people who feel limited by pain regain confidence in their bodies and get back to living the lives they want to lead.
While many patients initially seek help for pain, Joe’s focus extends beyond symptom relief. His approach is centred on helping people understand their bodies, rebuild trust in movement, and develop the physical capacity needed to return to the activities that matter most to them, whether that’s playing with their children, walking the dog, enjoying a round of golf, training in the gym, or competing in sport.
With a background in Sports Science from Bournemouth University, Joe spent years working in elite performance environments before becoming a chiropractor. His experience includes roles as a Strength and Conditioning Coach at the Bristol Academy of Sport, supporting GB sprinters preparing for the Rio Olympics, and working within international motorsport with Formula 2 and Formula 3 drivers, including athletes who have since progressed to Formula 1. Throughout his career, he has worked alongside athletes from a wide range of sports, including Rugby, American Football, Boxing, Basketball, Golf, and Netball.
This experience shaped Joe’s belief that the body is remarkably adaptable when given the right inputs. It also reinforced the importance of treating the individual rather than simply chasing symptoms.
Joe’s approach begins by understanding the person behind the pain. He combines detailed assessment, hands-on chiropractic care, soft tissue therapy, movement rehabilitation, and lifestyle factors such as stress, sleep, recovery, and training habits to create personalised treatment plans that address both the cause of the problem and the factors preventing long-term progress.
His goal is not simply to reduce pain, but to help patients build resilience, confidence, and capacity so that pain no longer dictates the decisions they make or the life they live.
Joe was awarded the British Chiropractic Association Academic Excellence Award for achieving the highest score in his final year of study. He is a member of the British Chiropractic Association and is registered with the General Chiropractic Council (No. 05143).
Outside of practice, Joe enjoys CrossFit, reading, playing music, spending time outdoors, and being outnumbered at home by his wife, young son & small fluffy dog, Milo. Strong coffee remains an essential part of his daily recovery strategy.
