Diagnostic ultrasound is a non-invasive diagnostic technique used to image inside the body. An Ultrasound transducer on the skin produces sound waves that have frequencies above the threshold of human hearing which are then interpreted by a computer to produce an image.
Musculoskeletal (MSK) ultrasound is used in our clinic to provide real-time images of muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves, and cartilage throughout the body and so is particularly helpful in the diagnosis of orthopaedic and sports injuries such as rotator cuff tears, muscle injuries and also chronic conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis or osteoarthritis. Sometimes, pain or injury is triggered by movement, which cannot be captured in a static image. Ultrasound is performed with movement and can provide information that cannot be detected by any other imaging method. It has the added advantage of being radiation-free.

Joseph graduated from Bournemouth University with a Sports Science degree in 2015.

He went on to work at the Bristol Academy of Sport as a Strength and Conditioning Coach and at UK Athletics with GB sprinters training for the Rio Olympics. After this, he ventured into Motor Sport. For two years he worked with international drivers competing in Formula 2 and 3, where he helped with some faces you’d see on the current F1 Grid. He has a wealth of experience training elite athletes in sports including American Football, Boxing, Netball, Golf, Basketball and Rugby (this is by all means not an exhaustive list).

In 2018 Joe reflected on his career path and returned to University to study Chiropractic to be able to focus on treating as well as training. His aim is to be able to give patients from all areas of life relief from symptoms as well as supporting recovery from injury by guiding the rehabilitation journey. Using his experience he love to blend manual hands on techniques with unique exercises to help build a robust and comprehensive tailored management plan.

He uses this approach to help those who want to get more out of the little things in life as well as those who like to push their limits, from gardening to Marathon running; or walking the dog to lifting heavy weights, Joe will be able to help.

Joe was presented with an Academic Award from the British Chiropractic Association for achieving the highest academic score in his final University year. He is a member of the British Chiropractic Association and registered with the General Chiropractic Council no 05143.

In Joe’s spare time he like to train CrossFit and is currently learning how to play the drums. Joe is fuelled by strong coffee and has a surprisingly small fluffy dog called Milo.
